I wanted this LO as it helped highlight something I had never done before. This section seemed more practice substantial than research, and I learnt a lot through the process. The testimonials gathered from both an actor and the director show that I stayed calm during problems and maintained a professional composure throughout.
LO4 – Working with the Media Team
To seamlessly work with actors and a filming team on both locations and in post production.
Speaker Issues
We encountered a few problems as this project was drawing to a close. The media team was not too happy with our audio and had told tutors about their concern.
When Joe and I found out about this issue, we went to chat to their tutor and ours to help resolve the problem as quickly as possible. We spoke with Chris Hainstock about the issue, and he advised we talk with the media team directly.
We found the media team in the editing suites and asked them about the issues with the work. We spoke about the problems and what they would like changed.
We then went to the sound theatre to listen to the work in there. While in here the media team completely changed their minds about the work we had done.
This was due to the speaker difference. They had been listening to our work on poor speakers, making out work look bad.
After this was sorted, we went through the film, and we all agreed on one change.
We then bounced the project and gave it to the media team to add to the movie.
This was a frustrating problem to solve as it had been caused due to inadequate monitoring in the media department.
Callum Kerr – Testimonial
During the filming process, we maintained a professional attitude towards everyone on set.
Callum was the male lead of the film. As the sound crew for the movie, we wanted to cause as few issues with the filming process as possible.
“It was a pleasure working alongside Callum and Joe recently in their film project. Both guys were cheerful and extremely professional. I’d highly recommend either of them to work on a professional set, and wish them the best of luck for the future.” – Callum Kerr
Kelly Hodgekiss – Director
To Whom it may concern
With reference to Callum Price and Joe Pallot
Callum and Joe have been recording, composing and editing the audio for my short film Time. They completely the task efficiently and quickly to a high standard and have proven, to be honest, and well-mannered individuals. They possessed the ability to get on with any task given and to suggest politely new ideas to better the project. I would not hesitate to recommend that both are good candidates for any kind of audio employment.

Mixing 2
I sat down with the media team to go through the film with them.
They were having problems with lining up our audio to the movie. This was because they were using a different edit. After placing in the edit, they gave us everything lined up perfectly.
Watching through I made notes of what needed to be changed. The biggest problems were with levels. The effects were far too loud, and the music was very overpowering in some scenes.
After looking over these problems again, we turned the master compressor down as we feel this was causing the low-level Foley to be too loud during parts.
We then ran this final mix through insight to check everything and sent it back over to the media team.
